Representing the Czech Republic and training at Jetsaam Gym Brno, the orthodox fighter competes within the light heavyweight division. He previously reigned as a champion in both the Rizin Fighting Federation and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, becoming the first athlete from his nation to claim a UFC belt. Throughout his career, he has utilized an aggressive and unconventional approach to defeat high-level opponents, including triumphs against Glover Teixeira, Dominick Reyes, and Jamahal Hill.

Entering the event with a professional mark of 32-6-1, he arrives following a mixed stretch of recent performances.
