DUSTIN POIRIER

An American competitor hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Dustin Poirier established himself as a force in both the featherweight and lightweight weight classes. Operating from the southpaw stance out of the American Top Team gym, "The Diamond" built a reputation on high-level boxing and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This well-rounded skillset propelled him to capture the interim UFC lightweight championship, alongside earning key career victories over elite opponents such as Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje.

Prior to his appearance at UFC 329, Poirier accumulated a professional record of 30 wins, 10 losses, and one no-contest. His recent stretch of competition yielded mixed results. After securing a submission victory over Michael Chandler, he suffered a head-kick knockout defeat against Justin Gaethje. Poirier bounced back with a knockout win of his own against Benoît Saint Denis, but subsequently dropped his next two matches, falling by submission to Islam Makhachev and most recently losing a unanimous decision to Max Holloway._
