DRICUS DU PLESSIS

Representing South Africa, middleweight Dricus du Plessis trains with Team CIT MMA using an orthodox stance. Born in Welkom, he developed his aggressive style through early experience in judo, wrestling, and kickboxing. Du Plessis has held titles across various promotions, making history in January 2024 as the first competitor from South Africa to capture a UFC championship.

Heading into UFC 329, du Plessis holds a 19-2-0 record. In his most recent outing in August 2025, he lost a unanimous decision to Khamzat Chimaev. This setback followed a run of victories, including a策unanimous decision win over Sean Strickland, a face crank submission of Israel Adesanya, a split decision victory against Strickland, and a technical knockout of Robert Whittaker.
