ASU ALMABAYEV

Hailing from Janatalap, Kazakhstan, orthodox flyweight Asu Almabayev represents the DAR Pro Team. Since launching his professional mixed martial arts career in 2013, the Kazakh grappler has established a reputation for his ground game, securing eleven victories by submission. Before joining the UFC, Almabayev built his resume in promotions like Brave Combat Federation and M-1 Global, where he captured the interim flyweight championship.

Entering UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill with a professional record of 12-2-0, Almabayev is on a winning streak. His three most recent bouts all ended in decision victories, starting with a unanimous decision over Imram Magaramov and a split decision against Zach Makovsky in 2022. Most recently, on March 9, 2024, he secured another unanimous decision victory when he defeated C.J. Vergara.
