Hailing from Handan, Hebei, China, orthodox competitor Zhang Weili fights out of Black Tiger Fight Club and Fight Ready. Competing in the strawweight division, she utilizes an aggressive style built on striking and submissions. Before signing with the UFC in 2018, she held the Kunlun Fight crown and later achieved two separate reigns as the UFC strawweight champion.
Zhang brings a 17-3-0 record into UFC 300. After dropping consecutive 2021 bouts to Rose Namajunas—by head kick knockout and split decision—she secured three straight wins. Zhang knocked out Joanna Jędrzejczyk with a spinning backfist, submitted Carla Esparza with a rear-naked choke, and most recently defeated Amanda Lemos via unanimous decision in August 2023.
