ALEX PEREIRA

Alex Pereira is a Brazilian athlete who represents Teixeira MMA & Fitness. An accomplished former kickboxing champion in two separate weight classes, he brought a specialized striking base to the professional cage. After entering the UFC, he quickly climbed the ranks and claimed the middleweight throne by stopping Israel Adesanya. Following a failed title defense in a rematch against the same opponent, the orthodox fighter shifted his focus to the light heavyweight division, where he earned a win over Jan Blachowicz.

Entering the event, Pereira holds an overall professional mark of eight victories against two defeats. His recent activity features a split decision win over Blachowicz this past July. Prior to that, he experienced a knockout loss to Adesanya in April 2023, preceded by a string of three consecutive triumphs against Adesanya, Sean Strickland, and Bruno Silva.
