CODY GARBRANDT

Representing the United States, Cody Garbrandt developed his combat skills through high school wrestling and amateur boxing. Operating primarily out of the Xtreme Couture gym, he climbed the ranks of the bantamweight division to eventually capture the UFC championship by defeating Dominick Cruz in 2016. Known for his pressure-based striking approach, he has secured various performance incentives while competing at the highest level of the organization. His journey also included a brief period testing his skills within the flyweight weight class.

Heading into this competition, Garbrandt holds a professional record of 15 victories and eight defeats. His path to this match reflects recent inconsistency, including a knockout loss to Adrian Yanez in July 2026 and a decision victory over Xiao Long earlier that year. He also dropped bouts to Raoni Barcelos and Deiveson Figueiredo before securing a knockout win against Brian Kelleher in late 2023.
