Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, this American competitor established his craft at Roufusport. Before arriving in the premier promotion during 2016, he captured the Titan FC welterweight belt. Within the octagon, he built his reputation as a welterweight contender by employing a pressure-heavy approach fueled by persistent wrestling. His long road toward championship status culminated in the summer of 2024, when he secured the undisputed UFC welterweight title following a unanimous decision triumph over Leon Edwards.
Entering his current appearance, the veteran holds a professional record consisting of twenty-four wins, six losses, and one no-contest. His recent performance trajectory has seen a difficult downturn. He followed his title-winning effort against Gilbert Burns with three consecutive setbacks, dropping unanimous decisions to Jack Della Maddalena, Ian Machado Garry, and Gabriel Bonfim.
