KAI ASAKURA

Representing Japan, Kai Asakura began his professional journey in 2012. Throughout a decorated tenure with various organizations including Road FC and DEEP, he developed an orthodox striking approach rooted in his history with karate and boxing. He famously reigned as the Rizin Bantamweight Champion twice, accumulating major victories against competitors like Hiromasa Ougikubo and Kyoji Horiguchi. Since joining the UFC in 2024, the Japan Top Team member has continued to test his skills against top-tier opposition within the division.

Entering this contest with a career mark of 22-6, Asakura looks to build upon his recent momentum. His last outing on May 30, 2026, resulted in a knockout victory over Cameron Smotherman. Prior to that, he experienced setbacks against Tim Elliott and Alexandre Pantoja. During 2023, he also secured stoppage wins against both Juan Archuleta and Yuki Motoya.
