An orthodox American bantamweight fighting out of High Altitude Martial Arts, Colorado's Cory Sandhagen grew up training in taekwondo and kickboxing. Since launching his professional mixed martial arts career in 2015, "The Sandman" has showcased inventive striking and grappling techniques. Prior to June 2026, he secured key victories against notable opponents including Frankie Edgar, Marlon Moran, and Deiveson Figueiredo.
Entering UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres with a 14-3-0 record, Sandhagen has experienced mixed results in his recent appearances. Following decision wins over Marlon Vera and Rob Font, he lost to Umar Nurmagomedov. He bounced back with a TKO win over Deiveson Figueiredo due to a knee injury, but most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili.
