Hailing from Janatalap, Kazakhstan, orthodox flyweight Asu Almabayev trains out of the DAR Pro Team. Since starting his professional career in 2013, the grappling specialist has collected eleven submission victories. Known by his moniker Zulfikar, he previously captured the interim M-1 Global flyweight title before transitioning to the UFC.
Almabayev enters UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres with a 21-3-0 record. His recent stretch includes decision victories over Jose Johnson and Matheus Nicolau, followed by a retirement TKO loss to Manel Kape in early 2025. He quickly bounced back, earning a decision against Jose Ochoa before submitting Alex Perez with a guillotine choke.
