Born in Iraq and raised in Sweden, Amir Albazi initially made his name by winning bantamweight titles in UCMMA and FightStar Championship. Since arriving in the UFC in 2020, he has trained at various global gyms, such as London Shootfighters and Xtreme Couture, eventually making Great Britain Top Team his primary home. His ascent through the ranks was fueled by a dominant grappling style, which helped him secure notable victories over Alessandro Costa, Francisco Figueiredo, and Kai Kara-France.
Holding a career record of 17-3-0, Albazi is currently navigating a difficult stretch. After losing back-to-back unanimous decisions to Brandon Moreno in November 2024 and Kyoji Horiguchi in February 2026, his previous winning streak has been halted.
