KAMARU USMAN

Kamaru Usman is a Nigerian-American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC's Welterweight and Middleweight divisions. Born on May 11, 1987, in Auchi, Nigeria, he moved to the United States at a young age. Usman is known for his wrestling-heavy fighting style and has a background in collegiate wrestling at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he won the NCAA Division II Championship in 2010. He became the UFC Welterweight Champion on March 2, 2019, after defeating Tyron Woodley and has defended his title multiple times with notable victories over Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. He is recognized as one of the greatest welterweights in UFC history.
