Representing the United States, this featherweight competitor began his professional journey in 2009 before joining the UFC ranks in 2013. Based in Sacramento, he trains alongside the athletes at Team Alpha Male. Over his extensive tenure in the organization, he has established himself as an active veteran of the division. His professional resume includes significant triumphs against established opponents such as Myles Jury, Gabriel Benítez, and Cub Swanson. Throughout his time in the cage, he has earned various performance-based honors for his efforts.

Entering the event with a professional record consisting of twenty-five victories, fourteen defeats, and one no-contest, he arrives looking to bounce back. His recent competitive stretch includes a split decision win over Christian Rodriguez in August 2025. However, he struggled in subsequent outings, suffering a submission loss to Melquizael Costa, a split decision defeat against Jose Miguel Delgado, and a recent TKO setback versus Vinicius Oliveira this past June.
