Representing the Czech Republic and training out of Jetsaam Gym Brno, the orthodox fighter competes within the light heavyweight ranks. He established himself as the first athlete from his home country to claim a title inside the organization, serving as the inaugural light heavyweight king for the Rizin Fighting Federation before his tenure in the UFC. His professional journey commenced in 2012, characterized by a penchant for aggressive striking and an immersion in Bushido teachings. Throughout his tenure, he has secured high-profile triumphs over established competitors like Glover Teixeira, Dominick Reyes, and Volkan Oezdemir.

Entering the September 2023 event, the combatant maintains a career record featuring twenty-nine victories, three losses, and one draw. His current winning streak includes a rear-naked choke finish against Glover Teixeira and a spinning back elbow knockout of Dominick Reyes.
