Hailing from Wolverhampton, England, Jai Herbert competes within the lightweight division of the UFC. He represents Team Renegade and maintains an orthodox stance. Before joining the global promotion in 2020, he held the Cage Warriors lightweight championship, successfully defending the belt on one occasion. His athletic foundation is built upon Muay Thai expertise and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Outside of the cage, he has balanced his professional MMA career with labor as a scaffolder.
Entering this September 2023 event, Herbert holds a professional record of 12-5-1. His recent campaign includes a unanimous decision loss to Farès Ziam and a majority draw against Ľudovít Klein. Previously, he secured a decision victory over Kyle Nelson, following a knockout defeat to Ilia Topuria and a technical knockout win against Khama Worthy.
