Cody Garbrandt is an American athlete training out of Xtreme Couture. A collegiate wrestler who also possesses an amateur boxing background, he entered the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2015. He rose through the rankings rapidly, eventually securing the bantamweight championship by besting Dominick Cruz in 2016. Though he dropped the belt in his subsequent title defense, he remained a significant presence within the division throughout his career.
Heading into his matchup at UFC Fight Night: Hernandez vs. Rodrigues, Garbrandt carries a professional record of 13-5-0. His recent history includes a unanimous decision victory over Trevin Jones in March 2023. Prior to that win, he endured a three-fight stretch featuring losses to Kai Kara-France, Rob Font, and Pedro Munhoz, following a knockout win against Raphael Assuncao in June 2020.
