The New Zealander competes in the lightweight division under the guidance of City Kickboxing. An orthodox fighter with a background as a King in the Ring kickboxing champion, he utilizes a striking-focused approach enhanced by his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Since beginning his promotional tenure in 2014, he has faced elite competition, accumulating significant victories over opponents like Dustin Poirier, Paul Felder, and Mateusz Gamrot.

Entering the matchup with a career record of 24-14-0, the veteran arrives following a mixed stretch of recent performances. His last three appearances resulted in a split decision triumph over Mateusz Gamrot, followed by a submission defeat against Arman Tsarukyan. Most recently, he suffered a technical knockout loss to Benoît Saint Denis in February 2026 due to strikes.
