JAKE MATTHEWS

Hailing from Australia, Jake Matthews began his professional journey on the Victorian regional circuit prior to joining the premier promotion in 2014. The orthodox fighter operates within the welterweight class and trains under the banner of the XLR8 Training Centre. Throughout his long tenure, he has displayed a well-rounded skill set rooted in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His career ledger is highlighted by past triumphs over notable competitors such as Diego Sanchez and Li Jingliang, alongside multiple post-fight bonuses for his performances inside the cage.

Entering his appearance at UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse, Matthews holds an overall professional mark of 23-8-0. He most recently secured a unanimous decision victory over Carlston Harris in May 2026. This followed a submission defeat to Neil Magny in late 2025. Prior to that setback, he enjoyed a three-fight winning streak, earning decisions against Francisco Prado and Philip Rowe alongside a submission win over Chidi Njokuani.
