RAFAEL DOS ANJOS

Hailing from Brazil with dual American citizenship, Rafael dos Anjos launched his professional journey on his home nation’s regional circuit. He joined the premier global organization in 2008, eventually capturing the lightweight championship in 2015 by defeating Anthony Pettis before successfully defending the strap against Donald Cerrone. Throughout a lengthy tenure spent competing in both the welterweight and lightweight weight classes, the southpaw has utilized an Evolve MMA training base to showcase a versatile skill set anchored by aggressive Muay Thai striking and proficient Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Entering the matchup at UFC 332 with a professional record of 32-17-0, the veteran looks to snap a three-fight skid. His recent stretch includes a unanimous decision loss to Vicente Luque followed by another setback on the scorecards against Mateusz Gamrot. Most recently, he suffered a technical knockout defeat due to a knee injury against Geoff Neal in October 2024. Prior to this challenging run, he secured a submission victory over Bryan Barberena after dropping a contest to Rafael Fiziev.
